I am Dr. Zahid Mehmood, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MSPT-NMPT) specializing in Neuromusculoskeletal Physical Therapy (MSPT-NMPT), with more than 7 years of clinical experience in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and patient care.
I currently work as an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Ibadat International University Islamabad, alongside my clinical practice in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. My clinical practice focuses on comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and evidence-based management of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
I have extensive clinical experience managing patients with neck and back pain, shoulder and knee disorders, arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, sports and orthopedic injuries, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, and other neurological and functional disorders. I use individualized treatment plans incorporating therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular rehabilitation, functional training, patient education, and other evidence-based physiotherapy approaches according to each patient's condition and goals.
My approach is patient-centred and focused not only on relieving pain, but also on restoring movement, improving strength and function, increasing independence, preventing recurrence, and helping patients return to their daily activities with confidence.
Alongside clinical practice, I am actively involved in university teaching, clinical supervision, student mentoring, and physiotherapy research. I have contributed to peer-reviewed research in areas including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neurological physiotherapy, chronic pain, and functional rehabilitation.
